In 2025, Wattle Park Primary School will welcome Wattle Hill Kindergarten to be co-located at our school.
Earlier this year, the Department of Education (DET) approached WPPS to explore the possibility of housing the kindergarten in our new portable building on Banksia Street for 2025. Due to the unusable condition of Wattle Hill Kindergarten’s current premises, they have been operating out of Aqualink Box Hill this year, which is not sustainable for 2025.
Following discussions with DET, Wattle Hill Kindergarten’s Committee of Management, and WPPS School Council, we have decided to open our new building to the kindergarten for next year.
This collaboration has many advantages for families at both Wattle Hill and WPPS as it fosters a seamless transition for students from early childhood to primary school.
Key points to note:
- A fence will be installed around the perimeter of the building to separate the kindergarten from the school ground. There will be little impact to our current space.
- Wattle Hill Kindergarten will use a separate entrance, utilising the gate closest to the school crossing.
- Kindergarten hours are staggered to create minimal disruption to school pick up and drop off times.
If you have a kindergarten age child and would like to explore this opportunity for 2025, please contact Whitehorse PreSchool Association’s Central Enrolment
https://www.wpsa.com.au/enrolments.
We are committed to ensuring that this transition is as smooth as possible. Steve is working closely with DET to ensure the integrity of the school is maintained throughout.
If you have any questions or concerns, please speak to Steve Donohue, Richard Abell, or a member of School Council.
We look forward to welcoming the Wattle Hill Kindergarten children and their families to our school community. Thank you for your continued support and cooperation.
Warm regards,
Steven Donohue Alicia Rennie
