Hello Everyone,

There’s been lots happening over the first couple of weeks of school, with plenty more events to come in the coming weeks.

Here’s a recap of a few of the events that have occurred recently.

100 Days of School
A huge congratulations to our Foundation students completing their first 100 days of school this week. To witness how much they’ve aged across these 100 days, take a look below.

Year 3/4 Arrabri Camp
Earlier in the week, our Year 3/4's went on their annual 2 day one night camp. This year, they visited Arrabri Lodge and here’s a short recap from Jamie and Kingsley.

The Year 3/4 students had a fantastic time on camp at Arrabri Lodge on Monday and Tuesday. They were thrilled to arrive and settle into their cabins with their friends before beginning a range of exciting activities. Throughout camp, students challenged themselves and had fun participating in the giant swing, flying fox, archery, low ropes course, climbing wall and mini golf.

On Monday evening, everyone took part in a bush dance, where they learnt traditional Australian dances and discovered the history behind them. On Tuesday, the students enjoyed a walk to the Yarra River to try their hand at gold panning before travelling to Puffing Billy. They finished the camp with a scenic train ride from Emerald to Belgrave before returning to school, full of wonderful memories from an unforgettable camp.

The giant swing was spectacular! It felt like going on a roller coaster. It was my favourite activity.   Claire Y 3B

I loved the cabins. They felt really homely and you could have fun with your mates.  Zia 3B

I loved the flying fox the best. It was scary at the start because it felt like I was falling off.  At the end I zoomed off and was going fast. It was really fun and exciting.  Emily 3B

I love Archery because I was always so close to the yellow section on the target and Miss D was really good at helping put the arrow in the bow.  Isabelle 3B

Parent-Teacher Meetings
A reminder: Parent-Teacher Meetings will be held next week.

• 3.50 - 7.30 pm

• 3.50 - 5.00 pm

Parent-Teacher Meetings are a hybrid version offered online or on site. The default position is on site unless organised with your teacher.

Please note that anyone who has an SSG scheduled each term, does not have a parent-teacher meeting.

How to win….

It’s simple

 - Continue to bring your nude food lunches

 - Pick up rubbish around the classroom and school

 - Turn off lights and powerpoints that don’t need to be on

 - Turn off leaking taps

 - Dispose of rubbish appropriately.

Each week, a Scarecrow teacher or leader will visit one classroom (at random). They will select one student for the ECO MVP, and their photo will be taken for Assembly. The student will receive an amazing Banana Trophy and Plantable Pencil.

House Points 
The House Points have been collected for this week.  The winning house decorates the trophy with their colours and has it displayed in the foyer of the school.

ICAS

Dear Parents/Guardians,  

We are delighted to inform you that we will be participating in the world-renowned ICAS competition again this year across Years 4 – 6.  

What is ICAS?  
ICAS (International Competitions and Assessments for Schools) is an online academic competition that is designed to assess students’ higher order thinking and problem-solving skills in English, Mathematics, Science, Writing, Spelling and Digital Technologies.  

Each assessment celebrates students’ accomplishments by providing opportunities for recognition and development. Every student who participates will receive a printed certificate and an online results report. Top performers will be eligible for medals.  

We encourage you to consider entering your child (Year 4-6 only) into ICAS this year.

How to participate in ICAS  

If you wish for your child to participate in ICAS this year, please:  

1. Read about ICAS subjects and prices here.
2. Read the terms and conditions here.
3. Go to Parent Portal to purchase tests here.
4. Enter our school’s access code –  IOQ829  
5. Enter your child’s details, select the tests you would like to purchase, then proceed to payment.  

Please note that the ICAS tests shown for selection are at the school’s discretion.   

After payment is made via the Parent Payment System, you will receive an order confirmation email. Please keep this for your records.  

ICAS Test Dates, Results and Certificates 

We will notify you when your child’s ICAS results are ready. You have until Monday 27th July to make an order. Once we have received your child’s ICAS certificate, we will send it home with your child. The back of the certificate shows ICAS results and the login details, ‘TAP ID and Pin’, that you and your child need to enter on the Results Portal.

Wattle Park Primary School

Australian Dental Health will be visiting Wattle Park Primary School from the week beginning on 24/08/2026 to provide on-site dental check-ups for eligible students.

Dental check-ups help maintain good oral health and are a simple way

to have this taken care of during the school day.

Parents and guardians are required to complete a consent form prior to the visit.

Additional spare paper forms are avaibale from the office.

Just a friendly reminder that the deadline for the physical consent forms is Monday, 27th July. 

Online consent forms will continue to be accepted up until the visit date.

There are more than 160 products at $10 or less and every family that places a LOOP order gets a $10 Spotlight voucher which can help with putting together your Book Week Costumes.  Also, there is a Spider-Man movie ticket give away for you to enter.

In order to keep our First Aid Room clean and tidy, we require volunteers to assist with this task. It is not time consuming and requires approximately 15 minutes of your time on a FRIDAY.
