Our Staff

Our series on our staff proved so popular last year, I have requests for it to return as our parents have different teachers this year.  Reintroducing Mr Dom Monea who teaches 3A on M, T, W & Thursdays:

Dear  WPPS Community,

My name is Dominic Monea and I currently teach 3A. The students call me Mr M, a moniker that has stuck since I first became a teacher in 2009. My wife and I have two sons, Harvey, and Caleb. I enjoy quality family time, watching sports and barbecuing.

I am in my seventh year at WPPS, having taught at various schools in Melbourne and overseas. The roles I have had at Wattle Park include; SRC, Numeracy Coordinator, Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Coordinator and now, Team Leader of the Year 3’s and 4’s. Within my classroom, I endeavour to create a warm, stimulating and engaging environment and I encourage my students to be risk takers and forward thinkers.

I look forward to working with my current 3A students, watching them develop and grow in all aspects. A recent highlight has been camp at Phillip Island Adventure Resort and getting back into the kitchen with the Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Program.

Deakin Uni & Wattle Park Primary School Counselling Opportunity
Wattle Park Primary School continues its valued partnership with Deakin University’s Counselling Unit to offer student counsellors the opportunity to work with students from Wattle Park Primary School.

The purpose of this engagement is to provide short-term counselling to support students in achieving physical, social, emotional, academic, and psychological wellbeing.

Prior to undertaking placement, students have completed core subjects required to equip them with sufficient counselling skills and the ability to apply these to a range of clients as required.

Counselling support is only effective when those taking part are willing participants.

If you wish for your child/ren to participate in the Deakin University Counselling Opportunity, please email the school office at wattle.park.ps@education.vic.gov.au.

WPPS will select which students participate in the program based upon the parameters of the counselling provided and the needs of the specific child. As you will understand, medical privacy is of the utmost importance, and as such the basis upon which students are chosen will only be discussed with relevant parties.
