Principal's Report 18th February 2022

Hello Everyone!

I hope each of our families are enjoying getting back into the rhythm of school as much as we are.

There is a few things I’d like to mention but firstly a few thank yous:

Thank you to Aisha and Duncan Gray and Steven Lew who have come to the rescue of our chickens. There are nesting boxes being constructed, that, when completed, will enable us to move our lovely feathered ladies into the new Chicken Run. The current nesting boxes have some issues that are best addressed by setting fire to them but instead we’ll put them in the dumpster.

Thank you also to our PE and Specialist Leader, Nic Lindsay who deftly organised swimming trials and Division Swimming over the last two weeks.

Gardens

As many of you will be aware, I’m on the lookout for someone/s to volunteer to assist with our school grounds. They would require a Working With Children’s Check and to be triple vaccinated. We have had one lady volunteer so far. However, perhaps there are more…Who knows… maybe there's a retired horticulturist out there who’d like to manifest their skills - nothing ventured, nothing gained!

Privacy Policies

As required by the Department of Education and training, we have updated our Privacy Policies on our website. You may view these, and all our policies HERE

Shade Sail

The top play ground used to have a shade sail over it until the wind shredded it to pieces. We removed for OH and S reasons. We have ordered a new one and the company doing the job has been in touch. There are some supply issues with materials but we are in frequent contact and have been assured the job will be completed ASAP.

RA Tests and continuing to be COVID safe at WPPS.

Wattle Park Primary follows the Guidelines as set out by the Department of Education and Training. One of which is to send out a letter to our school community outlining our COVID safe measures. If you'd like to read the entire publication you can find it HERE.

However, in brief, we are to continue as we have done:

  • No parents in buildings
  • Ventilation continues to be assisted by windows open when possible and air purifiers on all day
  • Limiting of classes being mixed when in buildings
  • RA Test distribution continuing every two week till then end of term
  • Limiting of excursions and camps where students use shared facilities
  • Students who exhibit any signs of infection being sent home

Thank you once again to you, our parents and carer community who actively keep our students safe.

Stay safe and well.

Principal

For only around 15 minutes we appreciate you checking the area, changing the sheets, and returned washed sheets the following Monday.
