Dear Parents and Carers,
It’s interesting during this lockdown how sometimes you forget even what day it is! However, I do seem to remember when it is Friday, the day where we look forward to the upcoming weekend.
Hopefully, this will be the last weekend in lockdown for Victorians!
A special thank you to Mrs Joy Roberts in the office who has been busy this week putting together letters for the Foundation to Year 2 students. So, parents please ensure to check your mailboxes this weekend for a welcome back note to our junior school students.
Some of our students would have been introduced to Haysie our pet lamb through WebEx sessions. Luc E-R Year 6 and his mum Jane have been so wonderful looking after Haysie on weeknights and taking him home this weekend. Haysie is approximately 3 weeks old so does need extra special care on these cold nights. I’m sure you will be delighted to see how much Haysie has grown upon your return to school on Wednesday.
Yesterday, I spent much of the day ringing Principal colleagues and students to stop myself from eating! Mrs Robyn Heeps teacher of Foundation B is a talented cook of cakes, Mrs Helen Dalzotto cooks scrumptious biscuits, Mrs Joy Roberts made chocolate biscuit balls and then we had a delivery of cupcakes to the staff! All so very, very tempting. I find it difficult to maintain a level of healthy eating when there are so may treats available. But I did make sure to go for a long walk last night to try and compensate!
It is important to be grateful for being in a country where we have exceptional health services, educational opportunities for all and in most instances compliant citizens that follow the rules of law. Each year our school celebrates Harmony Day to recognise the strength of our cultural diversity.
We must forever be thankful for our harmonious society.
Everyone here is certainly counting down the sleeps to Wednesday- 5 sleeps! Can’t wait to see you all!
Warm Regards
Gayle
We operate a first aid room at Wattle Park Primary school. In order to keep our First Aid Room clean and tidy, we require parent volunteers to assist us each Friday. We'd love 40 families to help - so you only have to help once a year!
For only around 15 minutes we appreciate you checking the area, changing the sheets, and returned washed sheets the following Monday.
How to assist
Thank you to our families who have made generous contributions towards the Wattle Park Primary School’s Building and Library Funds. These contributions are tax-deductible and can be claimed on your 2021 Tax Returns. Please contact Office if you need a copy of your statement printed or emailed to you directly..
