‘Hats on in September’ … and till the end of the year
With our emergence from the Winter gloom into the glorious Springtime sunshine comes the need to be aware of the damage rays can do. As per our Sunsmart Policy WPPS states the following:
From 1 September to 30 April, all students must wear a sun protective hat that shades the face, neck and ears for all outdoor activities.
“Hats on in September, off in May”
Students who are not wearing appropriate protective clothing or a hat may be asked to play in the shade or in a suitable area protected from the sun.

Congratulations to all of our students who have displayed these values this week.

First year at Wattle Park | 2013 |
Current role | Year 1/2 Classroom Teacher |
Favourite subject when I was at school: | Math, English, Humanities |
Best memory from primary school: | One of my most memorable primary school experiences was transforming my classroom into Ancient Egypt. We built a massive pyramid that reached all the way to the classroom ceiling and created a cave covered in hieroglyphics. We even wrote our own Indiana Jones-inspired script and took visitors on an immersive tour through Ancient Egypt. A TV news crew came to film the experience — and we ended up on TV! |
Favourite book growing up: | This is hard as I loved so many growing up. Robert Munsch was my favourite children’s author. I read as many Baby-Sitter’s Club books as I could. |
Favourite movie: | I love watching movies at the cinema, especially films with spectacular visual effects that really benefit from the big-screen experience. Star Wars and Marvel movies are some of my favourites. |
Best dish I can cook: | Whatever is in the fridge. |
Which Zooper Dooper flavour I'm buying from the Year 6 stall: | Cola Cola Cola |
Hidden talent: | I used to play the piano really well, but I haven’t practised in ages! I feel that I have yet to unlock another talent… |
Most controversial opinion: | Paying to camp is paying to be uncomfortable. |
Number one item on my bucket list: | Have a family reunion in Hawaii. |
If I wasn't a teacher I'd be... | Urban town planning |
? What I would tell my 10-year-old self: | It’s OK not to be like everyone else. However, allow people in and make new friends. |
