Hello Everyone,
Welcome to Term 2!
I hope everyone had a safe and happy holiday. I spent some time reading this: The Body Keeps Score. A fascinating look into how what we experience manifest in our bodies and brains. It is certainly not a Disney inspired novel one reads for entertainment but it does provide some fascinating insights into why children behave the way they do.
A reminder also we have our ANZAC Day Ceremony beginning at dawn tomorrow.
This provides a meaningful opportunity for members of our community to come together in reflection, particularly for those who may be unable to attend the service at the Shrine of Remembrance.
The service will follow the official order of ceremony as directed by the Anzac Day Commemoration Council.
Event details are as follows:
ANZAC Day is a significant occasion in Australia’s history. It is a time for us to honour and remember the service and sacrifice of those who have served, and to ensure that future generations understand the importance of peace and the realities of war.
We encourage students who have access to family medals to wear them on the day, in accordance with protocol (on the right-hand side).
Tea and coffee will be available following the service.

I’m not sure there has been a prize from the fete that has brought as much joy on a weekly basis as the reserved carpark in the staff parking lot!
Which of course, by default, highlights that using the carpark without prior consent by me is not permitted!

Our Students
Introducing Year 1/2 Reading Lounge
We are excited to introduce our new Year 1/2 initiative, The Reading Lounge, held every Friday before Assembly. Today was our very first session and it was a huge success! It was truly heartwarming to see students and parents come together, sharing stories and discovering the magic of reading side by side. The room was filled with a lovely buzz of excitement, curiosity and connection. We look forward to many more cosy, joyful mornings of reading together and hope all Year 1/2 parents, grandparents or special people join in when they can!

Students of the Week - will commence next week
As a result of our recent School Review, as well as the work we are doing with our School Wide Positive Behaviour Support Program, our school values changed last year from six:
Respect, Responsibility, Care, Encourage, Value and Challenge to the ‘Three R’s’;
Respect • Responsibility • Resilience
House Points - will commence next week
The House Points have been collected for this week. The winning house decorates the trophy with their colours and has it displayed in the foyer of the school.
