Hello Everyone,
I would like to extend my sincere and heartfelt thanks to our wonderful school community for the extraordinary support you provide each and every day at Wattle Park Primary School.
Our school simply would not function as it does without the generosity of our volunteers. Whether you are assisting in the kitchen program, supporting our garden initiatives, helping in classrooms, or informally reinforcing our school values while supervising and engaging with children after school, your contribution is deeply valued.
Your time, care, and commitment make a meaningful difference to the experiences of our students and the strength of our community. We are incredibly fortunate to have such a dedicated and supportive parent community.
Thank you—quite simply, we could not do it without you.

I’m not sure there has been a prize from the fete that has brought as much joy on a weekly basis as the reserved carpark in the staff parking lot!
Which of course, by default, highlights that using the carpark without prior consent by me is not permitted!

2026.04.01 Cameron Close Reading Program - Scarecrow Installation
Our Year 1 students had a wonderful time visiting Cameron Close for the installation of our new scarecrow. The children walked over with excitement and were thrilled to see the scarecrow in its new home. There was lots of singing, dancing and joyful celebration as everyone enjoyed the special moment together.
The highlight of the visit was naming the scarecrow Olive, a name chosen by the students with great enthusiasm. It was a fun and memorable experience for our Year 1 students and they are already looking forward to visiting Olive again!

Students of the Week!
As a result of our recent School Review, as well as the work we are doing with our School Wide Positive Behaviour Support Program, our school values changed last year from six:
Respect, Responsibility, Care, Encourage, Value and Challenge to the ‘Three R’s’;
Respect • Responsibility • Resilience
Congratulations to all of our students who have displayed these values this week

The House Points have been collected for this week. The winning house decorates the trophy with their colours and has it displayed in the foyer of the school.

Our Staff
Continuing our series on getting to know our staff at Wattle Park Primary School, we re-introduce Mr Dom Monea, who teaches Yr 3A Tuesday to Friday.
Dear WPPS Community,
My name is Dominic Monea, and I currently teach 3A. Students know me as Mr M, a moniker that I have used since I began teaching in 2009.
My wife and I have two sons, Harvey and Caleb. Our eldest, Harvey, has started Foundation/Prep this year, and our youngest, Caleb, has begun 3-Year-Old Kindergarten. They have both settled in well and are enjoying the new challenges.
Outside of school, I enjoy spending quality time with my family, watching sport, and barbecuing. I support the Essendon Bombers and Melbourne Storm, and I’m also a keen Formula 1 fan, with Oscar Piastri as my driver of choice.
This is my eighth year at WPPS, and I have previously taught at a range of schools across Melbourne and overseas. During my time at Wattle Park, I have taken on several roles, including SRC Coordinator, Numeracy Coordinator, Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Coordinator, and now Team Leader for Years 3 and 4.
In the classroom, I strive to create a warm, stimulating, and engaging environment. I encourage students to take risks in their learning and to develop as confident, forward-thinking individuals.
I look forward to continuing to work with my 3A students and supporting their growth and development across all areas.
Cheers
Mr M
