Principal's Report 12th December 2025

Hello Everyone,

Congratulations to our Year 6’s who had their graduation ceremony last night.

Thank you also to all the parents/guardians who turned up to witness the formal first act and the spectacular crew, headed up by Kelly Baird , who organised the fabulously less formal second act: Dinner and Disco at the Bennettswood Bowling Club!

Thank you to:

NAPLAN
In preparation for the Year 3 and Year 5 NAPLAN assessments in March 2026, we will be providing past NAPLAN papers for students to use over the summer break. These practice materials will help students familiarise themselves with the types of questions they may encounter during the testing period. Regular review and practice are highly recommended. I will also aim to include a sample of workbook-style NAPLAN exercises.

If you are interested, please write your child’s name in the link below by Tuesday, December 16th at 1:00 PM:

https://forms.gle/TpGLULS1WnbZVyxQ9

The practice papers will be available for collection at the office on Wednesday, December 17th.

2025.12.05 Year 56 Festive Market
On Friday, 5th December, the Year 5 and 6 students held a Festive Market. Different groups had their own stalls which sold food, games, challenges, items and prizes. It taught us how to manage money and a stall. It also taught us how to manage time so we could get the stalls ready and go buy merchandise from other stalls. We’ve been working on them for a really long time and we put all of our effort into our stalls. We raised nearly $2000, which went to the Year 6 graduation fund. We felt really stressed out but at the same time really proud of ourselves. If we could improve our stalls, some of us might change our prices, use our time more wisely and find interesting ways to attract customers.

Our Staff
Re introducing Ms Lauren Neilson who has been  teaching Year 4A this year at WPPS.

As we reach the end of the school year, I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to the entire Wattle Park Primary School community. This was my first year teaching and my first year at Wattle Park, and I couldn’t have asked for a more welcoming, supportive, and enjoyable start.

Teaching 4A this year has been a pleasure. Their bright personalities, excitement for learning, and sense of humour made every day a great one. I hope they have learnt a lot from me and that I have made school a really happy and safe place for them. I feel so lucky to have spent the year with such a fun, kind, and motivated group.

It has also been wonderful getting to know families across the school. All of the parents and carers have been so supportive, and I’ve appreciated all of their help this year. The staff at Wattle Park have also been incredibly generous with their guidance and encouragement, making my first year especially memorable.

I hope everyone enjoys a well-earned, sun-filled and relaxing summer break. I’m already looking forward to another fantastic year at Wattle Park in 2026!

Kind regards,

Project Playground
Having a visual focus for our fundraising efforts is an important way to galvanise support for community funded projects.

You will notice we have a sign up on the corner of Banksia and Warrigal Road. The purpose of this sign is to:

  • Let everyone know what we are raising money for (New playground)
  • How to help (Donations can be made via the QR code)
  • How much we have and how much more we need to go (About 80G)

This platform is live and the QR code can be used to donate (so feel free to donate!)  but given the proximity of the fete we will leave an official ‘Launch’ to a later date.
