Hello Everyone,
Thank you to our volunteers from last week who, headed up by Sjaan Keen, stocked, timetabled, sold and managed all the classes who attended the two days event that was the Father's Day stall.
The lovely parents who volunteered were:
2025.09.13 Saturday - Great Big Working Bee!

Our Students
2025.09.05 Yr 56 Basketball Day
On Friday the 29th of August, the Year 5 and 6’s went to The Dandenong Complex where we had Basketball Day.
Everyone was very excited as it was one of Grade 6’s last sports day. When we got off the bus we split into our teams that our teachers had made which were Rookies, Futurestars and Allstars. We put on our jerseys and prepared to face some challenging competitors. Some people had made a team chant that they would do before every game. Since there could only be five people on the court there had to be subs. We would switch subs every once in a while so everyone could have a go. During other teams games some other groups would come and cheer them on. Some games we won and some games we lost but everyone was very supportive .
A few teams that we faced were very challenging but nevertheless we had lots of FUN!

Students of the Week!
As a result of our recent School Review, as well as the work we are doing with our School Wide Positive Behaviour Support Program, our school values have changed from six:
Respect, Responsibility, Care, Encourage, Value and Challenge
to the ‘Three R’s’;
Respect • Responsibility • Resilience
Congratulations to all of our students who have displayed these values this week

Our Staff
Continuing our series on getting to know our staff at Wattle Park Primary School we introduce our Assistant Principal who also teaches Year 4B on Mondays, Mr Richard Abell.
“Hello Wattle Park Primary Community!
I’ve been fortunate enough to be teaching for nearly two decades across a number of different settings, including overseas. However, no setting has compared to Wattle Park Primary, and I have had the great pleasure and privilege of teaching here for ten years now. Over these years, I’ve had the opportunity to work across a range of year levels and am currently working in the middle school as one of the Year Four teachers and Assistant Principal.
I love this school for many reasons from the collaborative staff who continuously work tirelessly to support one another and our students and families. To the amazing students that seek to grow and evolve on a daily basis and have a hunger to learn. To our community that is constantly engaged and supportive of all parts of our school.
I look forward to continuing to be involved in our great school evolving and improving, moving into the future."
