Principal's Report 5th September 2025

Hello Everyone,

2025.09.13 Saturday - Great Big Working Bee!
From 9am to 12 noon we will be having our once a term working bee. Lots of mulching  and spreading of soil turn up for some or all of the time and help us make WPPS an even more beautiful place to be!

From 12 - 1 noon, we’ll fire up the BBQ and have sausage (and perhaps a beverage!)

Our Students

Students of the Week!
As a result of our recent School Review, as well as the work we are doing with our School Wide Positive Behaviour Support Program, our school values have changed from six:
Respect, Responsibility, Care, Encourage, Value and Challenge

to the ‘Three R’s’;

Respect • Responsibility • Resilience

Congratulations to all of our students who have displayed these values this week

The House Points have been collected for this week.  The winning house decorates the trophy with their colours and has it displayed in the foyer of the school.

2025.08.27 Foundation Chesterfield Farm Excursion
As part of our Foundation unit ‘Farms’, students have been learning about where our food comes from and how it reaches our tables. To bring this learning to life, the children visited Chesterfield Farm. The day was full of excitement as students met a wide range of animals up close. The excursion was a wonderful way for students to connect what they've been learning in the classroom to real-life farming practices, and they loved feeding the animals, riding on the tractor and milking a cow!

2025.08.29 Yr 12 Excursion to CERES - Farming for the Future
The Year 1/2s had a wonderful time on their excursion to CERES Community Environment Park on Friday 29th August, where they became farmers for the day! Students explored the world of sustainable farming by examining soil for minibeasts to test its health, wandering through the working farm, and even feeding the chickens. A highlight was planting their very own silverbeet or radish seeds to take home, ready to kickstart their own gardens. It was a hands-on, muddy, and memorable adventure in learning about how we can care for our planet!

Our Staff

Our series on our staff proved so popular last year, I have requests for it to return as our students have different teachers this year.  Reintroducing Ms Gabi Williams who is our Business Manager.

4. The Return of the Dental Van - 15th September

Dear Parents/Guardians,

Australian Dental Health has visited Wattle Park Primary School on Monday, 25th August.

The Dental Van will return on 15th September.

The dead line for return of the Dental Van is now 10th September.

Here is thform should you wish your child/ren to have a dental check up.

ADH will be providing free dental check-ups and treatment for eligible students. Regular dental check-ups are essential for keeping your child’s teeth healthy—preventing cavities, spotting issues early, and encouraging good habits.

This service is provided at no cost to eligible families through Medicare’s Child Dental Benefits Schedule (CDBS). If you have neither, Australian Dental Health will still provide a free check-up for your child.

Any forms received after this time will only be accommodated if time permits.

Don’t miss the chance to keep your child’s smile healthy!

If you have any questions, please reach out to ADH at info@adhv.com.au or 03 93239607.
