Hello Everyone,
Keeping our students safe is our first priority. Today our year 5/6s were involved in an exciting opportunity to explore cyber safety run by Deakin Cyber. Our close working relationship with Deakin University often offers opportunities for our students to work at the cutting edge of digital development. This was a Virtual Reality Incursion funded by the eSafety commisioner. Its purpose was to empower our students with strategies to remain cybersafe in the digital environment and by all accounts was a fascinating, informative and compellingly innovative approach to learning how to be cyber safe.

Year 4s - Kitchen Garden Program
This week the Year 4s made Caponata Bruschetta in the kitchen. In the recipe we diced capsicum, zucchini, eggplant, red onion, and parsley. We had to make sure the vegetables were diced evenly so they could cook at the same time. Cutting the onion was the most challenging but we worked as a team and got through it. We served the bruschetta with parmesan and a sprinkle of parsley. It was delicious and flavourful and had a lot of textures. We would rate it 9/10.

How to win….
It’s simple
- Continue to bring your nude food lunches
- Pick up rubbish around the classroom and school
- Turn off lights and powerpoints that don’t need to be on
- Turn off leaking taps
- Dispose of rubbish appropriately.
Each week, a Scarecrow teacher or leader will visit one classroom (at random). They will select one student for the ECO MVP, and their photo will be taken for Assembly. The student will receive an amazing eco straw and bag.
House Points
The House Points have been collected for this week. The winning house decorates the trophy with their colours and has it displayed in the foyer of the school.

2024.08.29 PFA - Fathers and Special Persons Day stall
A special thank you to the PFA, led by Sjann keen who put together our Father and Special Persons Day Stall last Thursday. Our profit was $1205.77 which will go towards the outdoor seating planned to go in after the concreting is finished.
Ground works
Our new footpath works continue and, weather dependent, concrete will be poured Tuesday and Wednesday next week. Then we wait a week till we walk on it. Not unlike the Chinese Theatre walk of fame in Hollywood, I have asked the School Captains if they would like to have their leadership status immortalised in it with hand prints.
The company doing the work all have Working with Children Checks and are regularly used by schools to do similar work.
As this project moves forward I am putting in more seating but that’s another story…
